Meet Attorney Robert N. Gawlas, Jr., a partner in our Litigation Department.
For over thirty years, Bob has represented clients in a variety of insurance, construction, commercial litigation, environmental, and workers’ compensation matters. He has spoken to bar associations and business and professional groups regarding construction, workers’ compensation, and environmental law.
Bob graduated with honors from the Dickinson School of Law and was a member of the Law Review. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Middle and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania, and has practiced law throughout Pennsylvania since 1986, serving as lead trial counsel in the state and federal courts.
Bob is rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, and is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar and Wilkes-Barre Law & Library Associations. He graduated from Dartmouth College, where he was a member of the varsity football team, and is a member of the Dartmouth Lawyers Association. Bob is a long-time member of the Back Mountain Memorial Library Board, and is the Past Board Chairman of the American Red Cross, Wyoming Valley Regional Chapter, where also he served on the Executive Committee. He is also Director Emeritus and Past Board President of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Bridge Advisory Board, and three-time Corporate Chairman of Bowl for Kids’ Sake.
Bob is the former President of the St. Nicholas/St. Mary’s Elementary School Board of Education and has also served on the Boards of Directors of Catholic Social Services, Northeast Camp Cadet, and Kingston Township Raiders Junior Football, Inc. He was also Co-President of the Holy Redeemer Football Booster Club.
