Big or small, all employers will almost inevitably face employment law issues at some time during the operation of their businesses.
Working with an experienced attorney to resolve these legal issues is the best way to minimize costs and protect your interests.
At Rosenn Jenkins & Greenwald, LLP, our clients include employers from many private and public-sector businesses, as well as non-profits and governmental entities throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. We represent hospitals, employers in the gaming industry, manufacturers, distribution centers, large regional supermarket chains and many other businesses.
Representing Employers
When representing employers, it is important to know the nature of their businesses. We often discreetly meet on the premises to gain a better understanding of what our clients are doing and how best to meet their employment law needs. We then tailor our services to match our clients’ needs.
On a day-to-day basis, we focus on counseling employers on employee discipline, review and revise personnel handbooks, handle issues that arise under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), as well as wage and hour laws and other issues:
- Defense of employers’ claims
- Employee discipline
- Review and revision of employee handbooks
- Family and Medical Leave Act matters (FMLA)
- Wage and hour claims before the U.S. Department of Labor
- Defense of cases before EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) or Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission
- Retaliation/whistleblower claims
- Negotiate and draft severance agreements
Preventing Litigation Before It Starts
Many employers face false or misplaced allegations made by employees who are unhappy. For one reason or another, these employers face allegations of wrongful termination, FMLA discrimination or sexual harassment.
We focus on preventing litigation between employers and employees before it starts by helping employers take actions that proactively comply with federal and state laws. However, if litigation is inevitable in employment law matters, we work closely with our Litigation Practice Group to resolve matters favorably.
