On February 16, 2021 at 9 a.m., Jim Valentine and Kieran Casey of our Labor & Employment Department will present a virtual seminar titled “Discipline During the COVID-19 Pandemic” for NEPA SHRM. COVID-19 continues to have devastating effect upon the public in general, while at the same time significantly impacting our workplaces, both on-site and remote. As a result, employers are often confronted with issues as to whether they have the legal right to discipline employees for COVID-19 related performance and attendance deficiencies, and for other conduct that may be linked to COVID-19, such as failure to adhere to employer safety protocols.
In this ninety-minute presentation, Jim and Kieran will explain the current state of the law, and the rights of both employers and employees during the pandemic. The presentation will also provide to attendees recommendations as to how an employer should address disciplinary issues, and those policies and best practices that an employer should have in place.
If you have any questions about this seminar or the issues impacting employment decisions in the midst of the pandemic, please contact Jim (jvalentine@rjglaw.com) or Kieran (kcasey@rjglaw.com) via e-mail or call 570-826-5600.
