Beyond the creation of a will that takes effect upon death, we prepare advance directives, living wills and powers of attorney for our clients.
A Rosenn Jenkins & Greenwald, LLP lawyer from our wills and trusts group helps you create documents that direct a family member or trusted friend to take care of you if you are no longer able to care for yourself. Living wills and advance directives allow a trusted agent to make healthcare decisions for you, while powers of attorney permit an agent to make important financial, legal and other decisions for you.
What is a Living Will?
A living will is a document memorializing a person’s wishes with regard to certain health care procedures. It takes effect only if the person is unable to communicate and is terminally ill or in an irreversible coma. It can grant permission to care providers to withhold certain life-sustaining procedures.
