Drivers: Learn About the Changes to Pennsylvania's Move Over Law

Drivers in Pennsylvania will face enhanced criminal penalties if they don’t give space to first responders and disabled vehicles. Under the revamped Move Over Law, drivers approaching an emergency response area are required to move one lane over when passing first responders and disabled vehicles. Drivers who are unable to safely merge into a lane further away must slow to at least 20 mph less than the posted speed limit.

Traffic violations can carry large fines and license suspensions, and can be difficult to navigate without an attorney proficient in such matters. If you need assistance when charged with a moving violation or a license issue, please contact Attorney Michael Sowinski (570-826-5650 or msowinski@rjglaw.com) or one of the other attorneys in our Litigation Department.
