Jim Valentine and Kieran Casey of our Labor & Employment Department presented a virtual seminar titled “Discipline During the COVID-19 Pandemic” for NEPA SHRM on February 16th. In their presentation, Jim and Kieran addressed the impact that COVID-19 continues to have on workplaces, both on-site and remote, and the issues confronting employers in disciplining employees for COVID-19 related performance and attendance deficiencies, and for other conduct that may be linked to COVID-19, such as failure to adhere to employer safety protocols. The presentation identified recommendations as to how an employer should address disciplinary issues during the pandemic and those policies and best practices that an employer should have in place.
