Lee S. Piatt presents: “Choice of Business Entity.”

On Thursday, August 22, Lee S. Piatt, Esq., a Partner in our Business & Finance Department, and accountant Anthony J. Buczek, Jr. CPA of Allentown, will present “Choice of Business Entity,” a continuing education seminar for attorneys and accountants sponsored by Wilkes University and the Luzerne County Law & Library Association. The seminar runs from 1-5 PM, and will be held at The Woodlands Inn & Resort. Registration is available at the door or online . Attorney Steven Roth moderated a panel at a presentation by the Family Business Alliance called “Bring Your Family to the Table.”

On Tuesday, April 16th, our Managing Partner, Steven Roth, moderated a panel at a presentation by the Family Business Alliance called “Bring Your Family to the Table.” The presentation focused on the many aspects of owning and operating family businesses.

The panel discussion was on the topic of “What Works/What Does Not Work in Running a Family Meeting” and touched on many of the Dos and Don’ts in running business meetings for family-owned operations.

Attorney Lee Piatt presented a lecture to the Board of Directors of Rural Health Corporation of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

On Tuesday, March 26th, Lee Piatt, a partner in our Business and Finance Department, presented a lecture on “Serving Non-Profit Organizations as Outside Directors” to the Board of Directors of Rural Health Corporation of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Attorney Lee Piatt gave presentation at PA Bar Institute

On Wednesday, November 7, 2018, Lee Piatt, a partner in our Business and Finance Department, gave a presentation at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute Business Law Institute 2018 in Philadelphia on the topic of ”Owner Disputes in Privately Held Entities in Pennsylvania.”

Specific matters covered in the presentation included avoiding disputes through proper planning, identifying the legal issues in a dispute, obtaining information from the entity, and resolving the dispute through a buyout.

On Friday, September 21, 2018, Attorneys Nick Marinelli and Tim Cotter, both associates in our Business & Finance Department, gave a presentation to the students of the “Nature and Essence of Entrepreneurship” class at Wilkes University, taught by Professor Jerry Ephault.
